Nancy Elizabeth Edmonson was born on October 3, 1935, to the late William Everett Small, Sr., and Hazel Stone Small.
At the age of 90, Nancy passed away peacefully on Monday, June 15, surrounded by the love of her family.
After graduating from high school, Nancy set her sights on attending The Ohio State University. She traveled to Dayton, Ohio, by Greyhound bus and stayed with relatives as she began her college journey. After one year, she returned to Dayton, where she began working at the Virginia Café. It was there that she met her husband, Morgan.
After many years at the café, Nancy went on to work for the Dayton Board of Education in the central kitchen, helping prepare meals for students across the school district. She later transitioned into a school custodian role, where she faithfully served for over 60 years before retiring in 2022.
Nancy had a deep love for cooking and brought joy to her family by preparing meals and hosting many memorable holiday gatherings.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, William, and Hazel Small; her husband, Morgan Edmonson; three brothers, William E. Small Jr. (Buddy), Harry Lee Small, and Bobby Dean Small; and her sister, Alcyon Small.
Nancy is lovingly remembered by her devoted son, Andre' Edmonson of Englewood, Ohio, and her daughter, Tangee (Carisa) Edmonson of Cincinnati, Ohio. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved grandchildren: Antoine (Marisha), Danielle Oliver (Kenneth), Dorian Kimbley (Hillary), and Christian Dillingham (Keyona). She was also blessed with a host of great-grandchildren, including Montana, Adventure, Anana, Anaiah, Annisa, Berkley, and Casen, along with many other relatives and loved ones who will deeply miss her.
In addition, she leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, including Forest Jean Jordan, Vicky Lynn Small, Tina Small, and Basil Small, along with many other relatives and loved ones.
