Nathaniel Hill Obituary

Nathaniel Hill was born on June 29,1940 in Nashville, Arkansas to Mr. Willie Cordell and Alice Hill. He was a graduate of Childress High School in 1958 and went on to enlist in the United States Army Reserves.

In 1959 he moved to Troy, Ohio. Throughout his life his many God given talents were recognized. Nathaniel worked for Hobart Brothers and Company, who recognized his business mind and leadership skills, promoting him as one of the first African Americans in management. After 23 years with Hobart Brothers, Nathaniel went on to work for the Ohio Department of Transportation for 13 years. After retirement, he continued working full time as a realtor, while also working for Trotwood City Schools Department of Transportation. From there he continued to follow his true passion, working as a full time Realtor.

Nathaniel was a devoted member of Maranatha Worship Center where he faithfully served as a Deacon.

He was a devoted, loving, and caring Husband, who cherished his “sweetheart”. He was a wise and loving father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. At every family gathering he was sure to be found with a camera in hand! He was the family photographer and videographer. Nathaniel was always there for his family, friends and for the church. 

On August 25th, 2021, Nathaniel departed this earthly life to be with the Lord.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Willie Cordell and Alice Hill; Son, Justin D. Hill; Sisters, Evangelist Annette Archie-Rhodes, Mother Virginia Burns, Mother Alliece Burns, Mother Leola McGee; Brothers, Mr. Willie C. Hill and Mr. Lee Artis Hill.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his faithful, loving, and devoted wife and “sweetheart” Patricia A. Hill; Daughters, Utsey T. Shelton of Huber Heights, OH, Charlotte (Hill) Main Of Columbus, OH, Robin (Devon) Baker Of Dayton, OH, Latisha (Shaun) Passmore of Dayton, OH; Sons, Calvin McKinnon and Andre McKinnon of Troy, OH; Sisters, Mother Maxcine Thomas of Oklahoma City, OK, Evangelist Pauline Gentry of Wichita, KS, Rev. Dr. Charlene (Andrew) Hogan of Stafford, VA, Mother Chrystell Draper of Kansas City, MO, Mother Mae Francis McElroy of Lockesburg, AR; Eight grandchildren, Cortland (Amanda) Martin, Stephan Allen Main, Tanisha House, Brittany(Devin) Fate, DezJianna Baker, Devon Baker Jr., Diamond Baker, Brielle Baker and seven great-grandchildren, Amyannah Martin, Michael Martin, Cartier Martin, Ke’Yanna Martin, Kohein Martin, Ahraeyah Martin, Emmahree Martin and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
