Odelia Pauline White “Dee Dee” was born June 2, 1917 in Orange, TX, the oldest child of Paul and Regina Jones. Odelia married Allen Matthew White in March 1941 and they had one child, David.
Odelia worked for private families in the Dayton area for many years. She was also employed by Charlie’s Bakery and ultimately retired as a food service worker with Dayton Public Schools.
Odelia loved solving the daily brain puzzles in the newspaper and keeping score of baseball games. She was a huge Cincinnati Reds fan and enjoyed attending Dayton Dragons games well into her 90’s.
Odelia loved Corinthian Baptist Church and at the time of her death was its oldest living member. Over the years she serviced as an organist and was a member of the Senior Usher Board.
Odelia was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Regina Jones; husband of 69 years, Allen White; four sisters, Julia Brandon, Maud Limbrick, Lillian Deamouchet, and Nellie Westbrook; and two brothers Walter and Earnest Jones.
Odelia is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, David and Janet White; grandson, Matthew White of Hampton, VA; and sister, Eloise Jones of Houston, TX; many nieces and nephews, other loving family members and friends.
