Phillip J Holmes was born January 12, 1946, in Chester PA to the late Betty Burton.

Phillip attended the Philadelphia School System and after high school, he entered the US Navy and US Army serving in the Vietnam War with an Honorable Discharge.

Phillip was known for his smooth wit and could make you laugh.  He lived in Dayton but made sure to always drive to Philadelphia when he could.

Phillip is preceded in death by his mother, Betty, his sisters: Betty, Maureen, Anita and Ardell; his brothers David, Michael, Dwayne and Darryl and brother-in-law James.

Phillip leaves behind his wife Vivian; two sons William & Phillip Jr. (Tiffany) and a daughter Ja’net; his grandchildren William, Phillip, Amber, Tashawn, Cameron, Chase and Alaya; sister Patricia Lomax, Jean Joyner (William), Connie Peat (Juan) and brother Oscar; 3 special friends.. Liana Toni and Nisha and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and family.
