Riley E. “Wink” Watts a native Daytonian born July 12, 1933, passed away at his residence Sunday, July 24, 2022. A beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he attended Whittier Elementary and Dunbar High Schools. He served in the United States Army as Corporal. He was employed at Miami Maid Bread Co., Frigidaire, Dayton Daily News and General Motors (Truck & Bus) where he retired in 1998. Riley was a first-class automotive mechanic and a diehard Chicago Cubs baseball fan.
He was preceded in death by his wife Janet Marshall of 42 years; parents Mary and Clarence Moses, Sr.; and two brothers Robert (Bobby) Watts and Clarence (Ditty) Moses, Jr.
He is survived by his five devoted, loving children: Michael (Kathy); Tracy Watts-Coleman; Tonya (Jeffrey) Mullins; Todd (Denise); Toby (Heather). Also, he leaves behind 11 grandchildren: Ricky & Rico Dawson, Patrick, Michael, Tyler, Julian, Karis, Todjrea, Tangela, Taylor, Alex, and 13 great-grandchildren; a sister Deborah (Roderick) McDavis of Gainesville, FL, and two brothers, David (Butch) Moses and James (BB) Moses of California; and a sister-in-law, Brenda Coleman of Southfield, MI, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends; a very special friend of 58 years, James Brooks and close friend Deborah Adams.
