Robbie Mordell Skipper Sr. was born in Dayton, Ohio on December 31, 1967. He was the loving son of James and Lucille Skipper. On February 24, 2025 at 4:23 PM, God reached out his hands and said, “Well done, come home, My good and faithful servant.”
At an early age, Robbie accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, and was baptized. He also attended several churches in the Dayton-area, and had several close pastoral relationships, especially with Pastor Scott and Pastor Eric Bailey.
Robbie graduated from Trotwood-Madison High School in 1986. He also attended Fayetteville State University and The Raleigh Institute. Robbie had a profound love of sports – especially football (GO BROWNS!), boxing and basketball. The number 1 thing in enjoying sports, was spending time with his son, RJ.
A natural leader, and lover of people, Robbie loved to talk and never met a stranger. Being a cosmetologist, “psychologist” (to personal friends and family), and cook were his most profound jobs that he loved to do. He had a true chef’s instinct and loved preparing dishes and special foods. Robbie’s personality commanded an audience of unity and care. Not only was Robbie a family-man, but demonstrated huge family support assuring to provide them with whatever they needed.
Robbie is preceded in death by his grandfather, Sweppy Hawes and his father, James Skipper.
Robbie leaves to cherish a loving memory and close relationship to his mother, Lucille (Thomas) Terry; his life partner, Sheryl Young; his son, Robbie M. Skipper Jr.; daughters, Kacee Skipper and Jade Callum; God-sister, Etta Jean Phillips MS, RD, LD, RET LTC; uncle, Morris (Janet) Hawes and a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
