Robert Williams Obituary

Robert (Bob) M. Williams 86, of Trotwood, OH, went to be with the Lord on March 9, 2023. Robert was born to Charles and Annie Lou Williams on July 8, 1936, in Columbus, Mississippi. He was baptized at an early age and continued his faith while singing in the men’s choir at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church. Robert moved to Florida where he lived for a few years. Later, he moved to Dayton, OH, and reconnected with Alma, who he first met in Columbus, Mississippi. She would later become his best friend and wife of 61 years. Robert was employed at Crume Brick Company, Pepsi Cola, and retired from General Motors after dedicating 31 years of faithful service. Robert was an avid baseball and softball player in his heyday. He was a big LA Dodger fan and Cleveland Browns fan no matter their record. He was a long time member of the Jolly Eight and Time Keeps Social Clubs.  He is preceded in death by both parents, and two sisters. Margaret Westbrook and Earnestine Barney. Robert leaves to mourn his wife, Alma Williams, five children, Cheryl Foreman, Cleveland, OH, David (Jeanette) Williams, St. Louis, MO, Sonya Williams-Moore, Vacaville, CA, Derek Williams, College Park, GA, and Shavorea Williams, Dayton, OH. Three brothers Albert Willams (JoAnne),  Dayton, OH, Charles Williams, Jr. (Hilda), Memphis, TN, and Sam Williams (Sandra), Columbus, MS. One sister Helen Wooten, Houston, TX. Three brothers-in-law, Charlie Glenn, Bowdon, GA, Hershel Glenn, Dayton, OH and Dorsey Jones (Jean), Bowdon, GA. Three sisters in-law, Hazel Tucker, Roopville, GA, Flawselle (Sue) Byrd, Carrollton, GA, and Myrice (Elaine) Jones, Bowdon, GA.  Twelve grandchildren, Jameson Williams, O’Neika (Nikki) Stevens and Shaniqua Williams, all of Dayton, OH. Ashley Williams, Columbus, OH, Challatae Williams, James Williams, and Carika Brown all of Cleveland, OH; DaVonna Williams, Kansas, MO, Danesia Crowder, Carrollton, GA, Amir Williams, College Park, GA, Shavonya Moore and Sharrod Irving, Vacaville, CA. Best Friend Willie (Shorty) Davis.

Family and friends may pay their respects on Friday, March 17, 2023, at 12 pm at St. Luke Missionary Baptist Church, 2262 N. Gettysburg Ave, Dayton, OH, 45406. Homegoing service to begin at 1 pm. Robert will be laid to rest at the West Memory Gardens Cemetery, 6722 Hemple Rd, Moraine, OH, 45439.
