Rocile Aniton Obituary

Rocile Virginia Bodiford Aniton was born on January 6, 1930. The oldest of nine (9) children to the late Mr. Charlie and Bessie L. Bodiford in Luverne, Alabama. She departed this life on Wednesday, November 10, 2021, at her home. Her soul with Christ will live forever. She was preceded in death by one brother, George Bodiford and one sister, Bertha Bodiford Paige.

Rocile moved to Foley, Alabama with her parents, where she attended Little Rock Missionary Baptist Church in Foley, Alabama. She accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized. She received her education at Baldwin County High School in Daphne, Alabama. After high school, she attended Junior College for a short time in Mobile, Alabama. Rocile relocated to Cleveland, Ohio. She was employed at her aunt’s grocery store. This is where she met Master Sergeant Alvin Aniton. They were united in Holy Matrimony on August 6, 1953. They were married for forty (40) years until his death in 1993. To this union 3 children were born; also, to this union were two (2) children from a prior marriage whom Rocile was very devoted to, and loved as her own. Rocile traveled with her husband during his military career in the (U.S.A.F.) United States Air Force and worked for many years at the USAF Base exchange where she retired. Rocile was a faithful member of the Mount Pisgah Church in Dayton, Ohio, where she served on the usher board.

Rocile will be missed by many, but her family will miss her most. She leaves wonderful memories to cherish: Five (5) children: Donnie Aniton (Debbie), Brenda Spicer, Randy Aniton (Elaine), Dale Aniton (Chris) and Rita Mapp (Tommy); Two brothers: Charlie Bodiford (Wanda), Willie J. Bodiford (Catherine); Four Sisters: Betty J. Baker, Barbara Flood (Jesse), Dorothy Pipkins, Rosa Johns (Virgil); a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great- great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a beloved friend Corine Hamilton.
