Ronald Eugene Thornton, 76, peacefully transitioned June 16, 2026, in the familiar comforts of his home in Dayton, Ohio. He was born May 6, 1950, in Dayton, Ohio, he was the beloved son of Katie and James Thornton, Sr.
Ronald was a barber for many years, and worked at economy Linen until his illness.
Ronnie as he was better known, was preceded in death by his father, James Thornton, Sr, mother Katie Stephen, four brothers James, Jr. and Stanley Thornton, Craig and Everett Stephen, one sister Wendy Thornton. Beloved grandparents, Robert and Katsy James.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved Daughter, Ronda L. Jordan (Terrance), of Columbus, Ohio. Two brothers Allen Stephen (Victoria), Richard Stephen (Helena), sister. Sylvia Moore, aunt, Doris Ferguson all of Dayton, Ohio. five grandchildren, Terriona, Tyra, Taleah, Talyzha and Tamyia Jordan all of Columbus, Ohio. He also leaves to mourn his memories, Pollie Hines devoted care giver and a very special friend and a host of other relatives and friends.
Though his earthly journey has ended, the love, strength, and legacy Ronnie shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were Blessed to know him.
The Celebration of Life service will be held 1 PM, Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Calvary Grace Brethren Church, 3243 N. Main St., Dayton, Oh 45405.
