Royce Ali Stringer Obituary

Celebration of Life for

Royce Ali Stringer

Royce Ali Stringer, age 3, was born on July 4, 2020, to Sean Allen Stringer and Jerica Elizabeth Brown in Dayton, Ohio. On Sunday, December 3, 2023, Royce courageously gained his wings while surrounded by family.

Royce attended Huber Heights KinderCare at the tender age of 6 weeks old until he was 21 months old due to his diagnosis of High Risk Neuroblastoma in April 2022. Royce, aka "Roycie" was such a happy and loving baby who always kept a smile on his face; he rarely cried. Royce grew into a brave and adventurous little boy, running freely through crowds and climbing over barriers and into spaces twice his height. He loved dancing and had a signature move, showing off his famous shoulder shimmy. Royce had an obsession with mac n' cheese but it had to be microwavable Velveeta cups; no other brand nor homemade would do. If you ever witnessed the love he had for his "roni"... you'd never look at Velveeta the same way again. Chick-fil-A nuggets also held a soft spot in Royce's belly. He was infatuated with dinosaurs, loved blankets and enjoyed watching SpongeBob, Ninja Turtles, Transformers, The Nightmare Before Christmas and The Simpsons... yes, The Simpsons.

During the course of Royce's cancer treatment, his light we all loved so much started to take a shift. But, even on his darkest days, he still had a presence about him that was unwavering. He filled surrounding hearts with joy, love and patience. While his physical presence on Earth was cut short, he managed to have such a great impact on others. Royce did have some ways about him that were not always friendly like his notorious growl and his piercing side eye but it's what people loved the most about him; his feistiness, his desire, his strength. Although Royce had a "Leave me alone" attitude in certain situations, one could usually break through his barriers with a little fist bump or a high five.

Royce's love for his family was undeniable. He was the epitome of a mama's boy, sharing hugs and kisses all throughout the day. He loved play fighting his daddy and snuggling with him. Royce was crazy about his siblings and always tried his best to keep up with them; and on the days he didn't have much energy, they showered him with love. Royce was spoiled beyond measure by his grandparents and was loved immensely by everyone.

Royce is preceded in death by his uncle, Jason Wooten; great grandmothers, Elizabeth (Elbert) Barnes & Sandra Mickens: great grandfathers, Clarence Mickens & John Henry Brown.

Left to cherish his legacy, parents, Jerica Brown & Sean Stringer; sisters, Alana Rash & Rhylee Stringer; brother Sean Stringer Jr.; maternal grandparents John & Marcia Brown; paternal grandmother, Tracey Wooten; paternal grandfather, Reginald (Melissa) Stringer; great grandmother, Shirley Stringer & Marva Wooten; great aunts, Sheila Stringer, Carmen (Rico) McCorry, Kim (Cedric) Howard, Monica Mickens & Sharon Copeland; great uncles, John Stringer III, Tony Mickens (Sabrina Sales) & Mike (Christine) Barnes; aunts, Stacey (Austin) Stringer & Lania Bush; uncles, Brandon (Shirelle) Stringer, Reggie (Angie) Stringer, Montez, (Jessica) Mickens, Todd (Farrah) Brown, Deland (Ebony) Brown, Devin (LaPaula) Brown; and a host of cousins, greats and friends.
