Ruth Faye Jones Obituary

“RUTH FAYE JONES”

It was a blessing to have met and known a person who was truly loving and sincerely kind to everyone; we speak of Ruth "Faye" Jones. She was a phenomenal woman who genuinely cared for people and enriched the lives of many, even if it was simply by sharing her infectious beautiful smile that made you fall in love with her. Throughout her earthly life she carried with her a vibrant and joyous spirit that radiated beyond the boundaries of any space that she entered. Above all, she was a dedicated daughter, devoted wife, wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, niece, cousin, bonus mother, and dear friend to many.

Born on January 14, 1941, in Osceola, Arkansas, to Bennie “Red” and Louise Corbitt, Faye dedicated her life to Christ at an early age.  She became a member of Mt. Enon Missionary Baptist Church in Dayton, Ohio over 50 years ago and served on the Usher Board. Faye attended Lincoln School in Charleston, Missouri, where she met the love of her life, Donald Jones. With him being the high school basketball star & her being on the cheerleading squad, they would go on to create an amazing love story that is still being written today. Realizing they were undoubtedly a match made in heaven, the two quickly married and built a beautiful family, raising five happy children.  Married to a proud US Air Force Man, her husband’s career enabled their family to reside in many states, including a three-year residence in Fairbanks, Alaska. Faye dedicated 35 years of service to Wright Patterson Air Force Base as a supply clerk, which afforded her the opportunity to enjoy and meet new people.

Her life extended far beyond work. Faye was OES Past Worthy Matron of Eastern Star Chapter #2 in Xenia, Ohio, Past member of DOI Akbar Court #33 in Springfield, Ohio, and a member of “Ponders” in Wilberforce, Ohio. For years she was definitely the queen of line dancing, loved her some Bingo, and never skipped an opportunity to be amongst family. She thoroughly enjoyed socializing, traveling, shopping, and was always happy with other peoples’ accomplishments/successes.

On Ash Wednesday, March 5th, 2025, at the age of 84, Faye peacefully transitioned to eternal rest with her loving family being present. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Louise Corbitt.  sisters Ollie Richmond, Marva “Pooley” Jean, and Edith “Tina” Corbitt, and brothers Paul Johnson, Stevie Easton, Rodney Easton, Bennie Corbitt, Jr., and Arthur Corbitt. While Faye’s earthly journey has ended, her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, and community. This Includes her being one of the many “MVP of Mother’s” from our wonderful upbringing days of Page Manor.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband of 67 beautifully blessed years, Donald D Jones; daughters Martha (Luther) Cox of Miami, Fl. and Donnetta F. Jones of Indianapolis, IN; sons Anthony (Shawnya) Jones of Detroit, MI, Ronald (Joyce) Jones of Cleveland, OH, and John Jones of Denver, CO/Dayton, OH; Grandchildren Donnetta Cox, Alexsandra Cox, Kameran Jewel Jones (aka Kamie Crawford), Jonathan Jones, Donald Jones, W. Danielle Jones, PhD., Jordan Jones, Emily Jones, Marcos Jones and eight Great Grandchildren.

Brothers Willie Easton of Chicago, IL, Gary (Susie) Easton, Richard Easton, and Timothy Easton of Charleston, MO, Curtis Easton of Farmington, MO, and Cecile Beasley of Sikeston, MO.; sisters Eldorado Hodges of Suffolk, VA, Candrice Parker of Bertrand, MO, Barbara Pierce of Chicago, IL, Veronica Dunigan of Charleston, MO, Beulah Beasley of Dyersburg, TN, and Patricia Biles of Poplar Bluff, MO.; Nephew/Bonus Son Donald (Shelonda) Corbitt; Bonus Son Albert (Kat) Gist; Special Friends, Mrs. Martha Small, Miss Joyce Stine and Ms. Shirley Williams; and a  host of Uncles, Aunts, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends.
