Sandra Jefferson Obituary

Sandra Leah Jefferson gained her angel wings on Friday, September 16, 2022. She was born August 23, 1939, in Evanston, Illinois to the late Jacob A. and Nancy “Rudge” Nei. She was preceded in death by her parents and granddaughter Jaelle Leah Bates.

Sandra graduated from Carl Schurz High School in Chicago, IL and attended The University of Illinois, Rets Technical Institute, Sinclair Community College and Miami Jacobs Community College. She worked as a State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA) at many facilities in the Dayton Area. She also provided private duty care for many elderly patients, even into her later years. One of the highlights of her career was caring for the Honorable Dayton Mayor James H. Mcghee for many years until he passed away. Sandra was a talented sketch artist who loved to draw portraits and she loved to read. She enjoyed laughing at her grandchildren and their silly behavior. She also enjoyed indulging in delicious desserts, doughnuts, and coffee.

Sandra leaves to cherish her memory four daughters: Kelly Ann (Timothy) Gibson, Susan Quinn (Ernest) Jones, Kristen Nei (Robert) Wagner, Karolyn “Kasey” A. (Kiff) Bates, Stepdaughter Tatiana Stokes and two sons: Daniel Duane Harwick and Jason Radford (Tonda) Bates Sr., a loving brother and sister in law William and Marlene Nei; 17 grandchildren: Joseph and Samantha Gibson, Elizabeth Jones, Ericka and Matthew Wagner, Gary English, Kimora, Brooklyn and Kiff Bailey Jr., Jason Jr., Jamison, Jayden, Tyson Bates, Yasmine and Yamiyah Craver, Henry and Destiny Hutcherson; 4 Great Grandchildren: Givenchy and Gionna English,  Me’Lani Bates, and Baylee Craver. Bonus Sons: Davon Phelps, Antonio Andebrhan, Leroy (Timi) Luckie, Casey Chattams and host of nieces, nephews, family members and friends. Sandra was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.
