Shannon Elliott, a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away on April 1st, 2023, at the age of 57. Born on October 17th, 1965, to Barbra Smith and Sherman Elliott, Shannon was a beloved member of his community and a military veteran who served his country with honor.
Shannon was a man of many passions and interests. He loved watching Western shows, cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and Ohio State Football, and supporting the Los Angeles Lakers. But more than anything, he cherished the time he spent with his family and friends. Shannon was always there for those he loved, offering guidance, support, and a listening ear whenever they needed it.
In his professional life, Shannon built a legacy and empire through hard work and dedication. He was a respected member of the refereeing community, where he built strong relationships and mentored countless young athletes. Shannon was a coach to many and a father figure to even more, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.
Despite his many accomplishments, Shannon remained humble and kind-hearted to everyone throughout his life. He had a contagious smile, a great sense of humor, and a warm and welcoming spirit that drew people to him. Shannon's presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him, but his memory will live on through the countless lives he touched.
Shannon is survived by his wife, Crystal Williams; his children, Shawn and Shanae Elliott, and Shane Williams; his siblings, Sherman Jr.{Lenora)Elliott, Patricia (Tony) Brickmore, Mark (Joy) Vaughn, Shonia Elliott, Yapha Elliott, Christopher Smith, Anthony Smith, Sonovia Jackson,Ri Nickla Charles (deceased) Keita Cotner (deceased); and his many grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was a cherished friend to George Wright, Jeff Ralls, Percy (Cowboy) Marshal, JP, and countless others.
A celebration of Shannon's life will be held on Friday, April 14th, at 10am at the VA in Dayton, Ohio. His family and friends invite all who knew and loved him to join them in honoring his memory and saying goodbye to a truly remarkable man.
