Sherman L. Gray Sr.

SHERMAN LEE GRAY, SR. was born December 29th, 1938, to Percy and Helen Gray in Castor, Bienville (Parish), Louisiana. Sherman was the firstborn of seven children. In 1961, he married Minnie Pearl Jackson. They moved to Dayton, Ohio in 1965. To that union were born six children. Sherman was a devoted member of Park Lane United Brethren Church. He was a retiree of General Motors (Inland Division).

Sherman is preceded in death by Minnie Pearl Gray (Wife); Mary Carol Gray (Sister), Jack Gray (Brother), Lewis Gray (Brother). Survived by one brother, Carl Gray; two sisters, Christine Gray, Percy Gladys Davis; Cherishing Sherman’s memory are his six children, Robert (Donna) Jackson, Linda (Maurice) Donlow, Sherman (Marva) Gray, Dorothy (Roy) Brown, Thomas (Tessia) Gray, Catherine (Clarence) Young. fourteen grandchildren, Donna Jackson, Nicholas Gray, Matthew Gray, Maunice Donlow, Robert Jackson, Jr. Wesley Gray, Jason Colbert, Kelli Gray, Kim Gray, Camyel Young-Calhoun, Clarence Young III, Reonna Jackson, Dayna Brown, William Gray; 17 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
