Shirley A. "Nannie" Ridley Obituary

Shirley “Nannie” Ridley, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. She was born on September 27, 1947, in Franklin, Georgia.  


A devoted member of St. Luke Baptist Church, Shirley dedicated many years of service to Miami Valley Hospital before retiring. She was known for her kindness and the love she shared with her family and friends.  


She was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond C. and Annie H. Ridley; her brother, Rufus L. Ridley Sr.; her nephew, Rufus L. Ridley Jr.; and her niece, Michelle Ridley.  


She is survived by her daughter, Tonya R. Ridley; her beloved grandson, Dominique T. Johnson; her brother, Reverend Arvin H. Ridley Sr. (Connie); her sister, Teresa C. Ridley; and her cherished pets, Mink and Bentley. She also leaves behind a host of special nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends who will miss her dearly.  


Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at St. Luke Baptist Church, 2262 Gettysburg Ave., with Reverend Arvin H. Ridley Sr. officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
