Tameka C. Flowers Obituary

Tameka Chenek Flowers was born June 8, 1975 in Albany, Georgia to Linda Nix and Soloman Flowers.  She attended Huber Heights City Schools, Ohio and was active in Brownies, Pee-Wee cheerleading, track, and basketball.  Tameka completed her first year of college at Sinclair Community College during her senior year at Wayne High School.  After graduating high school, she attended the University of Cincinnati earning an Associates in Electrical Engineering, a Bachelors in Operations Management, and was initiated into Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.   After graduating Tameka worked several jobs before deciding to join the Army.  Tameka's mother tried to convince her to go into the military as a Commissioned Officer, but Tameka insisted that she needed to start at the root and work her way up.  So…Tameka decided to join the United States Army.  While in the army promotions came quickly as she was able to memorize regulations, train and lead others.  During her tour in Afghanistan, Tameka completed her Master’s Degree in Human Resource Management from Columbia Southern University.  Tameka ended her Army career after 11-1/2 years of service and was hired by the Secret Service as a Procurement Analyst.


Tameka loved her family and friends and made trips often to visit them.  She loved to travel and has visited the Bahamas, Italy, Germany, France, Netherlands, Ireland, Scotland, Canada, England, and Africa to name a few.


Tameka transitioned to her eternal home quietly December 2, 2023.  Tameka was preceded in death by her grandparents, and her father.


Tameka is survived by: Linda Harris, mother (Roland Parks), Ricardo Harris Jr, brother; Myonah Anderson and Kensington Harris, nieces; Nashon Harris-Webster, Nephew; Kingston and Kashton, great nephews; Legacii, great niece; of Dayton, Ohio. Ricardo Harris, step-father; Ciara and Alexa Harris, step-sisters; Devin Harris, step-brother, Cameron Harris, nephew; Camberleigh Harris, niece of Houston, Texas, Rochelle Sumbry, Utoka Hosley; step-sisters of Albany, Georgia, Richard Rone, fiance' and his children Deja. Raimi, and Rick and a host of Uncles, Aunts, cousins, and friends.
