Thelma Lou Booker departed this life on December 3, 2025 at the age of 95.  She was born in Dayton, Ohio to the union of Henry Hudie and Ruth (Massey) Clark and was the youngest of three siblings.

Thelma was baptized at an early age at St. John Missionary Baptist Church.  She was a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, Dayton, OH for many years.  Thelma was a graduate of Dunbar High School class of 1947 and worked for Good Samaritan Hospital for over 25 years as a nurse’s aide.  Thelma enjoyed quilting, sewing, ceramics, crocheting, growing plants and attending senior events at the Wesley Center.  She also enjoyed her pet dogs.  

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Henry Hudie and Ruth (Massey) Clark; beloved friend and lifelong companion, Beauford Earl Booker; daughter, Charlene D. Canada; sister, Frances Owens; and brother, Bobby Ansley.

Thelma leaves to cherish her memories three daughters, Beverly Hawes, Patricia Booker of Dayton and  Sheila Pennyman of Columbus;  son, Kerwin L. Booker of Akron; 21 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 42 great-great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-great-grandchildren; sister, Virginia Hardwick; god-sisters, Barbara McDonald and Hattie Martin; best friend, Beverly Barker, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
