Thomas Earl Reed was born March 27, 1946 in Ripley, TN to Curtisteen (Reed) and William Roscoe Newbern Sr. He was a retiree of General Motors with many years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Ann Payton, Ardell Robinson, Dayron Taylor, William Thomas Newbern, James T. Newbern, J.T. Green and devoted companion Thelma Gadd.

He leaves to cherish his memory son, Derrick Reed Sr.; daughter, Tiffani Reed; step-son, Larry (Marilyn) Gadd; step-daughters-Crystal Clemons, Vicki Reed; brothers, Lank (Deborah) Taylor, Eugene Taylor, both of Ripley TN, Leon Taylor; sisters, Claudia (James) Capers, Ripley TN, April Powell, Ora Lee Reed both of Los Angeles, CA, Jeanette (Alfred) Hawkins, O’Fallon, MO, Mable (Charlie) Kent, Bartlett, TN, Lilly Braden, Cape Girardeau, MO, Joyce Collins, Jackson, TN, William Roscoe, Jr.,  Robert (Trish) Newbern, Cape Girardeau, MO, Dwight Newbern, Decatur, IL, Andre Newbern, Maryland Heights, MO and a host of many other loving family members and friends.
