Thomas Jerome Terry Obituary

It is with love and remembrance that we celebrate the life of Thomas Jerome Terry, who was born on March 9, 1946, and peacefully departed this life on June 6, 2026.

Thomas was born to the late Australia Gamble and William Platt Terry. He lived a life marked by family, strength, and the relationships he built with those who knew and loved him. His memory will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends.

Honorably, Thomas served his country as a Vietnam Veteran. Many homes and buildings exhibit his life trade and skills as a carpenter.

He leaves to cherish his memory a devoted wife; Lucille Skipper Terry; step grandson; Robbie Mordell Skipper Jr, step granddaughter; Kacee Skipper, brother in law; Morris Hawes (Janet) all of Dayton, Ohio, two sisters; Tonia Starks (Michael Starks) and Patricia Fletcher of North Carolina; and two brothers, Tyrone Gamble and William Fletcher, both of North Carolina.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents; five sisters; Willie-Mae Terry, Marie Holt, Linda McGee, Carolyn Fletcher, and Irene Fletcher; and three brothers; Ricky Fletcher, George Terry, Joe Fletcher and step son; Robbie Mordell Skipper.

He also leaves behind a host of loving nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who will deeply miss him. Holding a special place in his heart were his nieces, Sonia Frye, Kathy Iverson, nephew, James Terry and uncle Carl LeRoy Terry.

Though Thomas has departed this earthly life, his love, legacy, and the memories he created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
