Tyrus Deon Carter, affectionately known as “Ty” was born on June 6, 1963 to Lewis and Priscilla Carter in Dayton, Ohio.
Tyrus accepted Christ at an early age and attended North Dayton Baptist Church and Freedom Hill Bible Church in Dayton, Ohio. He graduated from Patterson CoOp High School in Dayton, where he played on the varsity football team. Immediately after graduation, Tyrus was excited about entering the United States Marine Corps and served for four years. Afterward, he attended Sinclair Community College. Tyrus’ work experience included Dayton VA Medical Hospital as a front line supervisor. He was currently employed at FedEx Express. Tyrus was a sports enthusiast. His favorite teams were the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Tyrus was preceded in death by his two step fathers, Thomas Jones and Calvin Rutledge; and siblings, Quinten Carter and Thurston Jones.
Tyrus leaves behind a loving family who will cherish their memories of him forever: his mother Priscilla Jones; siblings Maurice (Marty), Calvin David Jr., Toni, David, Lawrence and Todd Rutledge Sr. and Todd Jones; Favorite nephews Tyrese and Marvelous Rutledge; and nieces Alex Jones, Tanitia and Destiny Rutledge; uncles and aunts Ensley Robinson Sr., Eunice Levert, John and Jorene Simmons, and many other relatives and friends.
