Veronica H Gates of Dayton, Ohio went home to be with the Lord November 27, 2022. She was born October 29, 1942, to Mable Caesar and Arthur Jackson. She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years Theodore Gates Jr. Her mother, Mable Caesar, father Arthur Jackson, sisters Carol Wright and Patricia Moses, brother Gerald Caesar and son Michael W. Peeks.
Our bright light never met a stranger and never missed a chance to live and laugh. She truly lived her best life. If you knew her, you loved her. There wasn't anything she wouldn't do for anyone. If you needed clothes, she gave you hers or bought it. If you were hungry and needed food, she cooked it. If you needed shelter, she invited you into her home. She was a unicorn.
Veronica was a licensed cosmetologist and entrepreneur of 45 years at Caesars House of Beauty. After retiring from salon ownership, she went on to work as a State Tested Nursing Assistant and companion for many. Seeing after the sick and shut-in and often donating food and goods to the homeless. Ronnie finally retired to do what she loved most, which was be with her family. She was a faithful member of Freedom Hill Bible Church in Dayton, Ohio.
She attended Roosevelt High School in Dayton, Ohio graduating in 1960. She graduated from Sinclair Community College as a Chemical Dependency Counselor. She was a member of Iota Phi Lamda sorority.
She leaves behind her beautiful children Michele Peeks, Adrennia (Phillip) Kelly, Terri (Dennis) Gates- Spinks, Jamie (Kevin) Watt, Denise Finley, Pam Wilson and Felicia (Jerry) Hill. Brothers Chuck (Sandra) Caesar and Charles Gates of Austin, Texas. Sister Krucita Caesar. Special sisters: Joyce Shepard ,Sheila Jones, Marie Brown, Marsha Smith, Elizabeth Nichols, Dr. Tambura Omoiele. Special Family friend Earl Sylvania.
Four grandchildren Melita Peeks, Brandon Dawson, Terronica (Delvin) Perkins, and Tamara Washington. Eight great-grandkids Niah, Jordan, Jalynn, Delvin Jr., Destiny, Fredrick Jr, Mackenzie, and Elijah .
Special cousins Daniel Dixon and David Williams. A host of special nieces and nephews. Many special childhood friends, associates, and co-workers that she loved very dearly.
