Scott, Virgil P. age 98, devoted father and grandfather, departed this life on December 19, 2024. He was born on August 5, 1926 in Greenville, MS and attended Sacred Heart School and Church before moving to Dayton, OH. He was a long-time member of St. John, St. James and St. Benedict the Moor Catholic Church. Virgil served during WWII in the United States Army and was honorably discharged on December 4, 1946. He received his specialized technician certificate from R.E.T.S School and worked 30+ years for International Tool and Die Company in Dayton, OH.
Preceded in death by his loving wife Bertha J. Scott and son Gregory P. Scott, Sr.
He leaves to cherish and honor his memory his children, Bruce (Jennifer) Scott, LaDene Williams-Fletcher, Michael (Shelia) Buchanan, Jacqueline Scott, Deborah Holloway and Patricia Scott-Howard; his grandchildren, Byron (Candace) Scott, Trina (Markus) Harris, Antwane (Betsey) Scott, James (Launda) Williams, LaMar (Sherri) Williams, Christopher (Demica) Williams, Michael (Kenya) Buchanan, Jr., Marnika (Kamari) Wooten, Gregory Scott, Jr., William Howard; 19 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; four godchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
